The Reserve Bank of New Zealand faced the challenge of clearly communicating the details of their new Depositor Compensation Scheme to a broad public audience. They needed an engaging and easy-to-understand solution to foster trust and awareness. That's where animation came in.

After discussions with the team to determine the desired outcome, I took the RBNZ's initial script and suggested edits to optimise it for animation, ensuring clarity and conciseness.

I developed detailed storyboards that visually mapped out the narrative, allowing the RBNZ team to visualize the animation's flow and provide feedback early in the process.

An animatic was created before production was started, allowing RBNZ to see how the audio and visuals worked together to communicate their key messages.

The animation was brought to life using Moho and After Effects. A core production consideration was ensuring the RBNZ could easily create social media cutdowns in-house. To achieve this efficiently, strategic cuts were placed at key points and frames were designed to work across multiple aspect ratios, empowering them with maximum versatility.
